The Feature Film Industry & Film Education

All Industry Marketing logo

Our charity is supported by the Film Industry who in addition to giving Film Education direct financial support also provide many of their services free-of-charge in order to make our activities possible. These gifts and donations include an annual grant from All Industry Marketing for Cinema (AIM), grants from film distributors’ to produce free educational resources, free cinema access for school groups, film prints and logistical support. Without this support, our work would not be possible.

The majority of our annual funding comes directly from AIM, a generic marketing body which works to increase and broaden the UK cinema audience across the board. Funding, support and guidance also come directly from the trade bodies that represent the cinema owners and film distributors.

Film Distributors' Association

Film Distributors' Association logo

Originally established in London in 1915, Film Distributors' Association Ltd. (FDA) is the trade body for theatrical film distributors in the UK - the companies that release films for UK cinema audiences. FDA liaises and works with many individuals, companies and organisations to help ensure a vibrant future for film.

Cinema Exhibitors' Association

Cinema Exhibitors' Association logo

The Cinema Exhibitors’ Association (CEA) represents the interests of cinema owners throughout the UK. This ranges from the big national chains such as Odeon, Vue and Cineworld to individual venues with 1or 2 screens. It represents the interests of cinema throughout the private and public sectors to help maintain the future growth of the industry while tackling broad issues such as accessibility and piracy.

Commercial Sponsors

We encourage the involvement of third-party organisations who want to help us extend the scope of our work with schools and communities. This may involve sponsoring the World’s largest festival for cinema and young people, National Schools Film Week, commissioning educational resources, or supporting our training seminars and workshops with teachers. Film Education is committed to growing our activities to ensure that we reach as many young people, teachers, and schools as possible. We welcome the involvement of any individual or organisation that is genuinely committed to helping us achieve our goals.
