National Schools Film Week
National Schools Film Week is the biggest event of its kind in the World with 400,000 school children and 2,500 events in 500 locations throughout the UK!
We programme a range of classic, current and forthcoming films from around the World to address topical issues and, more broadly, the world young people currently inhabit – shown from a variety of different perspectives.
The 2009 event concluded on November 6th. The dates for 2010 are likely to be 14-22 October in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and 1-5 November in Scotland.
"I think these type of screenings are really good because usually when they (students) go to the cinema they go to see a particular type of film, they don't get exposed to a whole variety and this gives them a chance to see that there is something else out there. "
Miss Sharon Gladstone, Heathcote School, Chingford
